Hot on the heels of Hasselblads offering, Mamiya is back with their own new gear. This time around they’re setting their sights on a more reasonable target–the 10K price point. While not cheap by most means–it still a great price next to other medium format digital backs which can range anywhere from $20,000 to $40,000. You get great color, depth, 22mps and a big ass sensor (well bigger than 35mm anyway). Want more info right? Hit the links.

Life is good. Especially if you’re in the market for a new camera. And not just any camera, it has to be one that is capable of shooting at over 100,000 iso. What’s that? Well there’s 2 I can think of that will satisfy your need and apparent lack of lighting kit. That’s the Canon 1D IV and Nikon D3s. Yeah they do HD video too. Of course Canon does it better–imagine 60fps in 720 and 24, 30 in 1080. For photographs you get a lot of megapixels and a fast shooting 10 frames per-friggin’-second (Nikon gets 9 fps). The eternal struggle between Canon and Nikon continues on…

It should really read H$D because this thing is going to cost over $30,000 when it hits the market. Near as I can tell the big features are an unbelievable 60MP sensor (twice the size of 35mm sensors mind you), the ability to finally use a waist-level viewfinder and some updated focusing thingy. At any rate, the design still sucks and the gray won’t go away but you know, who cares because they keep making this camera.
